April Donations

April was a whirlwind of a month and I completely forgot to write about which organization I would be donating to.

For the month of April, I had chosen Make A Wish as the organization of choice for proceeds to be donated to. When I was 12/13 years old, I had made a friend with a boy named Ashley who was a new student in my class. He and I got along really well and shared a lot of the same likes and interests. He was really sick though and losing his battle to cancer. I didn't understand it at the time. I remember my music teacher telling me that he went away for a holiday. He never came back from that trip. As it turns out, that trip was to go to Disneyland - a dream that Make A Wish turned into a reality. I still vividly remember dedicating our next in-school band performance in his memory. It is because of Ashley that I choose to support this foundation. To remember and honour his life.
